Bsc. in Mathematics Education
To prepare students professionally so that they can work in different fields: - teaching in secondary schools, vocational and higher education institutions; - undertaking research at research centres or institutions; - working in administrative offices, business organizations and companies;

Mathematics Education

1. Goals: To prepare students professionally so that they can work in different fields: 

- teaching in secondary schools, vocational and higher education institutions;

- undertaking research at research centres or institutions;

- working in administrative offices, business organizations and companies;

- After the program, students will be able to study at advanced levels: master and doctorate degrees.

2. Objectives

2.1. Knowledge: this program aims to provide students with:

-          Basic knowledge of natural sciences, social-humanities, languages and IT

-          Deep knowledge of mathematics

-          Knowledge and updates in education and pedagogy

2.2. Skills: The program will develop student:

-          skills in applying modern teaching methods and IT to carry out maths teaching and jobs relating to maths.

-          self – learning and life-long learning skills

-          creative ability

-          skills in applying scientific approaches to solving practical problems of mathematics

-          team work and independent skills

-          Job seeking and job creating skills

2.3 Attitude 

- To form ethical and political values of a teacher such as: love of the teaching profession, enthusiasm, responsibilities, etc.

Program volume: 135 credits, of which:

- General subjects (Excluding Physical and Defence education)

-          Basic subjects

-          Foundation

-          Specialization: 9 credits (cores and optional)

-          Professional subjects (Psychology, education, and practicum): 27 credits

Minor Thesis: 5 credits

    Announcement and Call for Papers 

    During December, 2009 the Faculty of Education, (Website: http://www.eduf.vnu.edu.vn/english/), Vietnam National University in Hanoi, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its foundation. To mark this event, we plan to organize an International Workshop on “Policies for Teachers and Educational Leaders in the World and in Vietnam in an Era of Globalization and International Integration”.
