Workshop on “Policies for Teachers and Educational Leaders in the Innovative Education Process” has been successfully completed (11/12/2009)
On behalf of the University of Education, Viet Nam National University, Ha Noi, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to all distinguished guests and participants to this celebratory International Workshop on “Policies for Teachers and Educational Leaders in Innovative Educational Process”.
The challenging theme of this convention is to expose you all to what can be done in teacher education, leadership and management for professional development in the era of rapid transition, information technology and globalization. It also imposes on us as educators at all levels of education to seriously engage in rethinking our educational endeavors, redefining our educational goals and reorganizing our educational institutions as well.
The concern with the development of policies for teachers and educational leaders is not surprising. The response to the changing of society and thereby of education has required innovations to ensure all teachers and educational administrators are adequately trained and educated to cope with the demanding roles in society if they are the crucial source to make education fulfill its role in national development. You can see we emphasize “Innovative Educational Process” when we changed the original title as we announced before because this meaning.
It is, therefore, particularly appropriate for this gathering of international and national educators to address the emergence of new educational challenges and initiatives for teachers and educational leaders. The lessons learned from earlier experiences and the instances of how those changes were responded by other countries should be taken into consideration. It is also a pressing task for one country to regional and international cooperation with others in fostering development of communities in an era of ever-changing environment as we all experience at the present. I hope by the end of two days convention, you will have in your repertoire alternatives as well as country case studies from which other countries might learn.
On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like once again to express my heartfelt thanks to all of your support and devotion have contributed to the success of this conference, with the added wishes to all those who have traveled from abroad have an enjoyable in Ha Noi in the next few days.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi My Loc
